IYG 2012 - August 11: It looks just like Canada

This day was dedicated to visiting the second largest city in the Czech Republic – Brno. We went on a guided tour of the city center and saw all of the most important sights – Petrov hill and cathedral, the Old and New Town Hall, Freedom Square and had the opportunity to see Brno from a bird’s-eye view from the Denis Orchards.

After visiting the city center, we boarded a boat on the Brno Dam and went on an hour-long cruise. The afternoon was a little bit gloomy – grey and rainy, but fortunately all the green areas around the Dam – forests and meadows – made up for it. One of our Canadian participants told us it “looked just like Canada”.

After the boat trip, we got into the bus and moved to our new accommodation – Bohuslavice farm, which is a beautifully reconstructed building of a farm two or three centuries old. You can find pictures of the farm at www.hospodarskydvur.cz (unfortunately the website is only in the Czech language).
