IYG 2012 - August 7: Boats & Bikes

Today, we had two very different things to do. In the morning, we visited the Moravian Karst, a protected natural reserve with an extensive system of caves and a 136m deep abyss called Macocha. We admired stalactites, stalagmites and quite a few lakes and ponds in the most famous cave called Punkevní jeskyně. At the end of the cave, there was a 20 minute boat trip on an underground river, Punkva, after which the cave is named.

After lunch, we visited Blata – a minibike (mini-motorbike) factory. We saw how the motorbikes are made, and after that we got to try them – a scooter, a mini-quadbike and a minibike – that was the highlight of the day for most of the participants.

In the evening, the participants started introducing their home countries – we started with Hungary, Denmark, Australia and one of the states of the U.S. – South Carolina.
