International Police Association (IPA) - a section of the Czech Republic

On November 6, 1992 was the international recognition of the Czech section of the IPA in Rio de Janeiro.

IPA is:

  • non-profit organization
  • largest international association of police officers with the number of over 400 000 members in the National sections 63 countries of the world
  • non-governmental organization (NGO) in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council United Nations and the Council of Europe
  • So far the only international organization of police personnel regardless of rank, position, language, race, religion and belief
  • politically and professionally independent is not connected to any other group or institution
  • open to the police every state that allows international contacts and exchange of experiences between police members
  • associations registered with the Ministry of Interior is a legal entity, which is divided into territorial organization

IPA wants:

  • promoting friendly relations and mutual assistance between police officers in our country and abroad
  • assist and promote the exchange of experience in the police sector and thus contribute to the ease of international police cooperation
  • their cooperation with the public image and influence ideas about the police and the positive impact on the relations between citizens and police
  • study tours and meetings of its members to expand knowledge and understanding of the problems of others
  • within their power to be active and assist in the social field
  • promote mutual tolerance and contribute to international understanding and peace

IPA offers:

  • wide educational seminars through a program implemented in the Information and Education Centre at Gimborn Castle
  • regional, national and international educational meetings on all five continents
  • scholarships abroad to complete continuing professional education
  • Police and educational study trips to faraway countries. an annual international youth meeting (every other part of the world) for the young members of the IPA and the sons and daughters of members of the IPA
  • weeks of friendship, competition, and anniversaries with a social and cultural backgrounds, to promote international meetings among members
  • international youth exchange programs, a unique opportunity for new experiences in education and culture
  • inexpensive holiday stays in hotels at home and abroad IPA
  • multilateral information on local or regional communications and magazines IPA
  • exploring the possibility of police equipment at home and abroad and exchange experience with colleagues, regardless of nationality, rank and service ranking
